Khalid Saeed Butt, one of Pakistan's most prominent contemporary miniature painter, recently exhibited in Karachi. His work is rather unique and truly a 'signature of his own'. Khalid's paintings depict the many moods of lovelorn heroines, some are joyful at their union with a partner they love, while others are serious and solemn as they attempt to seek their absent lover. The figures in his paintings are usually set against a calm backdrop of mountains abundant with flora and fauna, to further add to this, his tasteful colour palette and the strategic scattering of gold leaf further enhances his paintings and ensures that his style remains like no other.
